Farm RecipesToasted Pumpkin SeedsDon’t throw the seeds from your pumpkins and winter squash away! You can easily make them into a delicious, high-protein snack. When you’ve scooped out the insides from your pumpkin or squash, put them in a bowl of warm water. That will make it easier to separate the seeds from the stringy, slimy insides. Separating the seeds can be a fun kids’ activity!
All of the pumpkins we grow are “pie” varieties, so they have good, sweet flesh for baking in breads or pie, and are also good for soups. Of course, carving a Jack-O-Lantern is also a possibility!
