Applesauce

The golden delicious apples in your share are the best for applesauce. They are so sweet, it really doesn’t need any sugar!

Peel, core and slice apples.

Put them in a saucepan with about 1/4 inch of water in the bottom. Cover and cook on medium-high heat. Stir, check and add more water as needed.

After about 15 to 20 minutes, the apples will soften (if you are doing a large quantity of apples, this will take longer). Mash with a potato masher or fork. Add a dash of cinnamon if desired, and simmer, on low heat for 10 more minutes, stirring often.

Enjoy plain or with yogurt or ice cream.
